Fact of the Day: Rus Land

Russia's name is derived from Rus, a former state in medieval Europe. The name itself is derived by a group of Vikings of the same name that founded the ancient state.

  5. hmmm, I'm not fully sure this is the correct info. Not sure. I believe it has Slavic roots not the Viking ones, eventhough one of the Viking pirates did establish one of the first khaganats there...
