Fact of the Day: Voted Against Miss Lilly

Despite denying and mocking Democrats who claim that ultra-conservative Republicans are voting a "war on women", Paul Ryan did vote against the 2009 Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. The bill amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964, giving women more legal power for equal pay in the workplace.

  1. You do know that all bills come with other crap stuffed into the bill, right? So when a congressman votes against a bill, more often than not, it's because of the crap. You have to know that no bill sails solo, right?

    1. the final bill was modified to pass through bipartisanship means. Even after Republicans were whipped to oppose President Obama at every turn, the bill was supported by some Republicans in the house, and even more in the Senate.

There are riders and extra things added into bills sure, but this will not go down well for their case in the history books.
