Despite being named "King Cobra" the snakes are not true cobras. Cobras belong to the genus family Naja, while the King Cobra is the sole member of the genus Ophiophagus.
Once was given a hog-nose snake to take care of. The owner didn't tell me these snakes 'hood up' like a cobra. Scared the bejeebers out of me. Me? I like snakes. Still looking for the ten foot boa that lives in the jungle where my house is.
Ugh, all snakes are creepy, hence the nickname some males are given who screw over their women.
