Galileo Galilei was one the main scientists responsible for proving that the Earth revolves around the Sun, and not the other way around. The Catholic Church found his research to be against what's said in scripture and forced Galileo to say his findings were false even though they were scientific fact.
Without the technology backing, he is really a genius !

Awful what he had to go through in those days, what a brilliant man. I remember he did some studies/discoveries with gravity.
