While Valentine's Day's influence is spread across the world here and there, the place where it faces most opposition are nations where the main faith is Islam. Many Muslims feel the holiday conflicts with their religious teachings (mostly the romance), and don't celebrate it. Valentines Day is strictly prohibited in many Middle Eastern nations.

ReplyDeleteThat's true apparently for some Muslim countries. Valentine's Day was once not a 'thing' here in Australia but of course today it's different, it's one of the florists busiest days, so I am told.
ReplyDeleteJust another Hallmark holiday to me.

ReplyDeletethis is good to know!
ReplyDeleteThat's really interesting!
ReplyDeleteWorks for me, glad if the day was banned.
