My Favorite Photos: Zoo Giraffe

I took this picture of my fiancee Daisy and my mom at the zoo with the giraffes. They were my favorite animals we got to saw that day. When we walked by the father giraffe as he was having lunch with his son.
While the mama giraffe was hiding in the corner. Looked rather shy.

  1. The giraffes are always one of my favorites to visit at the zoo too. Only next to the apes.

  5. Awww...sweet photos. I really like giraffes. Your mom and fiancé look very happy, too. And may I offer a bit of (unsolicited) photo advice? You can remove the dark shadows that the sun casts on peoples' faces by using the flash on your camera. Depending on your camera, a built in flash is good anywhere from 15 - 20 feet or so, and by using it in a situation like this, it'll generate fill in light, which will remove the shadows and brighten up the faces.

  8. Is the mama giraffe shy or is she itchy and scratching herself against the building. I always enjoy the giraffes when we go to the zoo.

  9. They are my favorite, too. I am trying to remember which zoo has a high, walking bridge as you walk by the giraffes...They come right up and you are eye to eye with them. They have food to feed them and I held some in my hand and the giraffe ate right out of my hand. Their tongues are rough like sandpaper. The grandboys and I had so much fun feeding them. I THINK it's the zoo in Abilene, Texas.
    I love your photos....
