Fact of the Day: Tornado Alley

While tornadoes can happen almost anywhere, the vast majority of them happen in tornado alley. Which is a section of the United States roughly from Texas to Nebraska (and other states) where cold air from Canada meets the warm air from Mexico.

    I know could be terribles.
    Anyway we have earthquarters that are scared too!

  2. It's always a dreaded time of year, the tornado season. I don't live in tornado alley, but close to it. We are bordered by Illinois and Missouri, which tend to get hit hard every spring.

  4. I'm always amazed at the resiliency of the people that live in this area. I don't think I'm brave enough to live there.

  9. You couldn't pay me enough to live in Tornado Alley. I'll take minus 30, 5 months of winter and blizzards any day over tornados.

  13. Fortunately Colorado isn't in the heart of Tornado Alley. But we've had small tornadoes touch down all around us over the past few years. When that siren goes off, I head for cover!

  14. We had one touch down close to my home last night! I think our area gets around 1 a year.
