Fact of the Day: Forgetful Goldfish

A common myth out there is that a goldfish only has enough intelligenence to remember things for a few seconds. While goldfish can vary by sub-species, most goldfish can remember things for at least three months.

  1. I knew they had to be able to remember longer than a few minutes since people have taught them to do tricks.

  12. I find this a very long time. If you want many fish in your pond you should put Gold Fish in it. They breed very fast and are resistent.

  14. I never bought into the few second bit. I've seen fish do tricks, so how could they learn with such a short memory span.
