Fact of the Day: Shelley's Monster

While we commonly think that Frankenstein is the main villain of the original novel, it isn't his true name. In the novel Frankenstein is the doctor's name, and he didn't give the monster any name. Making him more accurately Frankenstein's monster.

  5. Sometimes people create monsters unintentionally, like Mr. Guillotine.

  6. There were two films that I really loved about Frankenstein. One was the original of course with Boris Karloff and the other tickled my funny bone where Frankenstein was played by Peter Boyle with Gene Wilder directing. I sometimes wonder if I would think of it as funny now. I'm going to have to rent it and find out.

  9. I'm reminded of Gene Wilder in "Young Frankenstein" saying: "My Grandfather's work was doo-doo." So maybe the monster should be called "Doo-doo".
