Fact of the Day: Christmas Tree Lights

In the late 19th century, electric lights for Christmas trees were invented. President Grover Cleveland used lights on his Christmas tree for the first time in 1895.

  6. The "Santa" type Christmas had previously been banned in the USA until 1854, I think. We've come a long way...

  7. Electric lights must have helped to prevent a lot of house fires from Christmas tree candles!
