Question: Did You Like Drama Class In School?

I loved drama class in middle school. What I remember most was being the Tin Man in our play based on The Wizard of Oz. However my interest in drama class ended in 9th grade due to a pathetic teacher and bit of stubbornness on my end. She didn't teach us much and we never did a single play. She was a new teacher and she left the school after her first year. I should have continued drama class in 10th grade because from what I heard, it was what I expected the class should have been like in 9th grade.

Did you like acting-class in school?

  1. I liked my English teacher who also organized the plays. I remember the only play we put on was also cancelled due to lack of interest. I had the role of a maid in one of Shakespeare's plays, but I can't even remember its name now. I was a bit relieved when the play was cancelled but it was fun while it lasted. They also got rid of our French teacher too. I liked learning French but when she left they never replaced her.

  4. I was never in a play, but we did have musicals, and I liked them. Big group, you could hide.

  5. No, I never caught the acting bug, but I can appreciate the idea of disappearing into a character.

  12. I took drama because I thought I could hide in the back and do nothing. Then the teacher decided to throw me in 4 plays, all with leading roles, so I had to work my butt off to memorize the lines. I was not a happy camper so I took technical theater 2 years later building the sets, where I actually could hide behind the stage with my friends and do nothing lol.
