Fact of the Day: Eiffel Tower

Despite it being one of the most recognizable things in France, the Eiffel Tower was only suppose to last about twenty years. It was finished in 1889, and was originally planned to be taken down in 1909 by the city of Paris.

  7. Well it has certainly stood the test of time.
I certainly didn't know it was only initially temporary!
Thank God for the Parisians that something survived - I suppose
also for the World to enjoy.
The view from the top is incredible.
    Cheers
