Question: Do You Use Reusable Grocery Bags?

I suppose it's my liberal conscience getting to me, but I've been starting to use reusable grocery bags way more than I ever did. I still get a few things bagged in plastic as they make good bags for small trash cans, but this cuts down on having just too many bags you'll never use. I also like how some of them keep things hot/cold so there's not a big rush to make it back to the house.

Do you use eco-friendly bags often?

  1. Not yet but I do use them to line my small trash cans
and I bring the rest to the recycling area.

  2. I use the plastic ones that they give me in the shop but according to our law all have to be biodegradable!

  3. I do because in Canada in some stores you have to pay for plastic bags, 5 or 10 cents per bag.

  4. I'm still actually using plastic bags too, as grocery stores here in South Texas don't seem to care what we use. I do need to invest in some reusable bags, especially when I'm shopping at Sam's or Costco.

  7. No, I still use the plastic. Like you, I use for the trash cans. I would never remember any other kind.

  8. Absolutely, because in EU one uses eco-friendly, biodegradable, recycled plastic bags only but they are always delicate and crack easily. So we use fabric and hard recycled plastic bags ;-)

  13. I try to use them most of the time. I even have insulated ones for cold food and those are really great, too.

  14. I do use them....however, we need to be careful with certain things we put in them, especially if they are not washable, as cross-contamination can occur, resulting in making one sick.

  16. Like a couple other commenters, I use plastic grocery sacks, and then reuse them as garbage sacks.

  17. I do use them....half the time, tho, I'll have 10 in the back of the car and forget to take them in the store. So, I end up with the plastic sometimes....
