As I mentioned Parks and Recreation is a show my wife and I really have enjoyed and we've gone through five seasons when it seemed like we saw the first yesterday. Season Four wasn't quite as good as the third, but we still really liked it. I just had hope the fifth would not continue a downhill trend.

I had heard about If I Stay last year, as the movie is based on a popular book that I never read. I noticed Chloe Grace Moretz was in it and I honestly believe she's on the most talented actresses alive. I was planning on taking my wife to see it in theaters but I heard the critics hated this one. A year later I can see why.
Tomatoes were once called a "poison apple" because European aristocrats had died eating them. Except it was really the plates they dined on that killed them. They were often made of lead which the tomato often absorbed and thus caused lead poisoning.

I took Daisy to the mall the next city over as it's better than our own in Spartanburg back in October. We ate at the food court for lunch. Daisy had went to Ruby Thai Kitchen which may be the only one that exists in the nation. She was very happy with her food.
During a state visit to Canada, President Richard Nixon met with Canada's Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. The Prime Minister's infant son Justin was there and Richard Nixon gave a toast "Tonight we'll dispense with the formalities. I'd like to toast the future prime minister of Canada: to Justin Pierre Trudeau". Justin Trudeau became Prime Minster of Canada in November of 2015.

We had went to two Thanksgiving dinners this year. The first was at my brother Zach's house. Most of the guests were on his wife's side of the family like usual. We've met several times so it doesn't fell that awkward anymore.
I was the youngest son of a father who passed away in his 40's, so I didn't get to spend much time with my dad. Though I do remember the first (and only) time he took my brothers and I fishing. I'm not sure what kind of lake or pond he took us to, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was only known by the people who lived nearby. My dad had a fishing rod and we had to share another rod.

There's two types of people when it comes to seeing Christmas decorations early. The people who are bitterly upset about it, and the people who are excited that Christmas is almost (but not really) here. My wife Daisy saw all the Christmas stuff back in October and just ran to it.

While I've never read a single book in the Hunger Games series, I've been a fan of the movies. I got my wife to see the first movie years ago and she became a bigger fan than me. She read all the books and really wanted to see the sequels. We saw the first part of Mockingjay last year and now it's time for the last film in the series.

I took this photo of my wife Daisy back in October in front of the huge Christmas tree in the Haywood Mall in Greenville, SC. It's a nice pretty tree, but it is silly to see the whole place ready for the holidays before Halloween happened.

Parks and Recreation is a show my wife and I have been watching constantly. It's been the first series since Merlin that we watched without taking a real break. It's incredibly funny, so I haven't been able to object to it.

My wife Daisy and I are looking for our own house, and we typically expect to paint at least one room by the time we move in. We don't even know what house we'll get yet, but I told Daisy to pick colors to get some ideas. Now she's got a million, I never really knew how much she liked coming up with ideas for a room.
Barbed wire was used constantly during World War I as it efficiently slowed movement of enemy forces, protected the men behind it, and was easily replaced when damaged. However when tanks rolled out in 1916, they had made the barbed wire defense far less useful as they could roll right through it. .

When was the last time you got flowers? And for men, when was the last time you gave someone flowers? The last person I gave flowers to were my wife Daisy, though I no longer get flowers for her. It's not a unromantic gesture but I got her plenty of them during our first year of dating and she kept them in the vase until they rotted. I never liked seeing them turn ugly and disgusting so I got her other things instead. She's never really complained about it either.
When was the last time you got or gave someone flowers?

Wade Hampton Lanes is a typical bowling place in Taylors, SC. Taylors is a small town next to a small city called Greenville. My wife wanted to go to the mall in Greenville, but we figured we'd go bowling first to make the drive seem shorter.
Johann Rall was a Hessian (German) colonel during the American Revolutionary War. It's believed that on Christmas Day, he was handed a note about George Washington and his army getting close but put it in his coat pocket without reading it. He was too busy drinking and play cards to care. His forces were defeated at the Battle of Trenton and Rall himself was mortally wounded during the battle.

Arrow is a TV series based on DC comics' Green Arrow. It's a similar concept to Smallville which had a much younger Superman and also had the Green Arrow as a character. Though this TV series features a different actor and the Green Arrow is the main character. Though other heroes and villains from DC comics do appear.
A lot of English/British monarchs have passed away without a son or daughter to take their place. King William IV was one of those monarchs, but he did have illegitimate children. Through this line, one of his modern descendants David Cameron is the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

I accidentally had gotten some Skinny Pop instead of the popcorn I wanted but decided to try it anyway. I'm skeptical of all foods that go for the "no artificial anything" gimmick as you need something for flavor. It was by far the worst popcorn I've tasted in my life. I had three other people including my wife Daisy who said it was nasty. My wife has eaten things I would never dare touch, so that says something.
Pemaquid Point Light is a lighthouse and one of the most famous places in the state of Maine. However the first construction of the lighthouse did not last long. The builder used salt water to mix with his mortar, and it didn't take long for the lighthouse to crumble.

The Syrian Civil War is one of the most complicated conflicts in modern history. I think one of the reasons why most Americans don't have sympathy for Syrian refugees is because they don't realize how sorry of a state that country is now. If you did, you'd understand why Europe can't seem to handle all the people coming in. When your whole country is a war-zone, you'd want to leave too. Now many Republican Governors have said "no" to Syrian refugees even though the Constitution grants states no power when it comes to immigration.
A group at my Unitarian-Universalist Church (which welcomes many religious and non-religious viewpoints) decided to hold a fun little baseball game one Sunday afternoon. While the weather was warm, we didn't have many people show up. So we played a game where once you were done batting, you'd go play defense. I used to play baseball, and I was the only one to hit a home run though the ball did not leave the field.
During the American Revolutionary War, a soldier named Robert Shurtleff was given the nickname "Molly" as he never seem to have any facial hair. He was wounded during a battle in the thigh but decided to not tell a doctor about it. However when Robert was struck with fever, a doctor realized that Robert was a woman. A woman named Deborah Sampson had been dressed like a man to fight in the war.

I don't think there are too many people still living who grew up without television. I think everyone can relate to watching their favorite cartoons on Saturday mornings. This list includes all the cartoons that were part of my childhood. I excluded cartoons that were old re-runs as they were not new when my generation saw them.
Hershey founder Milton Hershey had originally planned to sail on the Titanic. However business matters caused him to take a ship that was traveling at an earlier date. That same ship sent the Titanic a message about icebergs in the same area where the ship would eventually sink.

I think I speak for the vast majority of Americans when I say that we are heartbroken of what happened to the French people in Paris. While bad things happen all the time, these tragic events hurt us more because they try to damage our free and democratic societies. Though I have seen a lot people blame all Muslims and Syrian refugees for it which is wrong. The vast majority of them are like the vast majority of us, we all believe in a peaceful place to call home. Instead of pointing fingers, perhaps we should join hands to stay united against the monsters who wish us harm.
The classic answers is that people either find them funny or people find them absolutely terrifying. I'm about in the middle. I don't find them scary (though Pennywise from It can give anyone nightmares) and I don't find them funny either. I never had any clowns at my birthday parties and I don't think any of my future children will either.
Do you like clowns?

I took this photo awhile back when Daisy and I stopped at Quiktrip for a frozen drink. I got the Sundrop one which I never had before. I like the real soda version but this was too sour. Daisy got one based on Cheerwine, which I tasted. I wasn't too impressed with it either.
Parks and Recreation is one my favorite shows and my wife's too, so much so that we finished three seasons in almost no time. From what I understand this season has the biggest cast change of the series. As Paul Schneider who portrayed Mark Brendanawicz left the show and Rob Lowe and Adam Scott became part of the main cast.
After hearing about Hachiko, the Akita dog that waited nearly ten years every day for his master (who had died at work) to return, Helen Keller was interested in getting a dog from the same breed. She had gotten two Akita dogs from Japan and she was the first person in America to do so.

I do remember when Click came out in 2006. But for some reason I just never saw it. Adam Sandler movies seem to get worse with time. However the concept of the movie is pretty interesting. It's about a guy who gets a remote that controls time and space. I think most people want a remote like that in their life.

One of my niece's favorite places to go is Chuck E Cheese. It's not hard to figure out why. I believe this is a variation of the whack-a-mole game. I never liked the game when I was her age. It was fun to a point, but you never got many prize tickets.
While I'm a vegetarian I have been fishing. My dad took me once when I was little before he passed away. My friend in middle school had a lake house, so we fished right off the boat dock. We only caught small fish and threw them back into the water. I have about no interest in it now, and you'll never find me with a fishing rod on a lake.
Do you ever fish?
In New Hampshire there was a rock formation on a set of cliffs that looked like a human face. They called it Old Man of the Mountain. In the 20th century they noticed that weather had been damaging it. Despite many years of trying to save it, it did collapse on May 3rd, 2003.

Daisy took this photo of me while we waited for the Veterans Day Parade to start. I'd like to thank all veterans who served their country honorably. Not just in the United States but to our friends across the world. As a lot of other countries celebrate Remembrance Day today which honors their own heroes.
I first heard about The Peanuts Movie many months ago. I do admit that I like Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest, but I didn't want to rush out to theaters to see it. My wife however did, and I'm not going to complain. The trailer looked promising, and I liked the new animation as it isn't radically different from the old cartoon.
