Question: When Was the Last Time You Got Flowers?

When was the last time you got flowers? And for men, when was the last time you gave someone flowers? The last person I gave flowers to were my wife Daisy, though I no longer get flowers for her. It's not a unromantic gesture but I got her plenty of them during our first year of dating and she kept them in the vase until they rotted. I never liked seeing them turn ugly and disgusting so I got her other things instead. She's never really complained about it either.

When was the last time you got or gave someone flowers?

  2. A word to the wise from a lady who has been married 40 years. I still love getting flowers :) The last time I got them was on my birthday.

  3. I don't remember exactly, but it's been a few years. It's nice receiving flowers but not a necessity for me. I'd rather we go out somewhere together or just take a day trip and enjoy the day.

  4. Mrs. Penwasser only likes wild flowers. Which are cheaper. So I have that going for me. You know, maybe I'll get her some tomorrow when I get the paper.

  7. My husband gives me bulbs and seeds. For me, sooooo much better than cut flowers. But both are romantic and sweet.

  12. I honestly don't remember! However, I do tell my friends that although I love flowers, they do die so I prefer something like a book or writing paper instead, because this is something that will last longer and that I can keep, and everytime I use them I will think of the person who gave me the gift. :)

  13. Ohh, too bad Daisy didn't think to dry the flowers if she wanted to keep them for a long time! Once flowers begin looking droopy they can be hung up to dry--and roses, especially, will look beautiful for years.

I received flowers a few years ago when my grandpa bought me a bouquet because he wanted to be the first man to do so--a very sweet gesture. But I still give credit for first bouquet to a little boy named Jonathan who brought me dandelions when he was 7 and I was 8.

  14. Sadly we gave some silk flowers to Art's cousin who was in the hospital. We brought silk flowers so she wouldn't have to water them. It was awful to get the news the next day that she had passed away. Now I wish we'd gotten fresh flowers. Sigh...
