Fact of the Day: Bison Numbers

In pre-historic times, American bison were found in large numbers all across North America. By the year 1900, human hunters had them dwindled them down to near-extinction with a population of about 300 bison. It took nearly a century to see the bison population recover.

  1. Goodness, they were indeed thinned out. Glad someone came to their senses so the Bison could multiply once again.

  2. Sad state of affairs - well documented in the movie:
    "Dances With Wolves".
A real eye-opener for people outside the USA

  4. Being from Idaho/MT I was able to work on a Bison ranch. Truly there is nothing quite like being close to these majestic animals. Adam thanks for stopping by.
