Fact of the Day: Ancient Sharks

Scientists aren't quite sure when sharks first emerged on the Earth. Some believe they evolved into form during the late Ordovician period (450 million years ago), but they certainly have existed since the Silurian period (420 million years ago).

  2. Interesting - but I don't think way back there were too
many surfers or beach goers - they really were of the Ape family and then through the millenniums humans changed to what we are like now. Ablutions were not a common occurrence!
Of course some people think still that the bible is factual, well that is a nonsense. Even Pope Francis knows that is a "lovely story" of Adam meeting Eve and then eating a bloody Apple - that is not Apple Inc. - the little information gadgets used today by mostly the ill-informed!
Hmmm - is that photo a shark of 450 million years ago?
Looks like ones seen off Aussie beaches and I am bloody sure off the Hawaiian Islands, Kay!
I look forward to the Trump, Cruz and Little Jebbie, and Tea Party followers for an attack on my wickedness.
As Lleyton Hewitt says in now words of sporting jargon - "C'mon".
Interesting Adam - God only knows where you dig these "gems" up from???
