Fact of the Day: Orca Wolf

Orca whales were once believed by the Siberian Yupik people to appear as wolves during the winter and transform back into orcas during the summer. Like wolves, orca whales do hunt in packs.

  1. Yes like wolves they do hunt in packs and with deadly
    efficiency.
It is also believed but not totally proven that they "kill
    for the "fun of it".

  3. Orcas are beautiful and I really like them, but I heard they're very dangerous!

  4. That would be quite the feat, they'd have to shrink quite a bit

  5. Adam. I suggest your readers who seem to be quite ignorant
of Orcas get the Sir David Attenborough, who is a distinguished British broadcaster and naturalists, and watch his series on the Orcas. Your readers will get the shock and surprise of their lives. David Attenborough's wild life series are the best productions of animal and sea life that you will ever be able to see.
Orcas will even beach themselves to get their evasive prey, so I advise standing on a beach when an orca is on the hunt, is not the safest place on the planet.

I suggest that you get one of the Attenborough wild life
DVD series on orcas and improve your knowledge.
There are plenty of ocras in the Gulf of Mexico so be careful when swimming or sailing down in that region.
I am only TRYING to be helpful.
