From the years 1956-1973, the football team The New York Giants had played in Yankee Stadium which is home to the MLB team the New York Yankees.

  1. I didn't even know there was a football team named New York Giants...just baseball. See....you are never too old to learn.

  2. I think everyone who knows of NYC knows of Yankee Stadium,
but I thought it still was the home of the football team.
Now only baseball and soccer and big concerts.
    I looked it up.
    Interesting developments indeed.
The "Giants" now play at Metlife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ. Doesn't seem the same, does it??
The so-called price of progress I suppose? A real bloody shame, I say.

PS: I dread to think what "Hawkeye Pearce", "Hot Lips", "Radar", "Colonel Potter" etc of all this. It is un-American.

  5. You may or may not know this....MOST Yankees fans are Giants fan. I believe the reason is that they played in the same stadium. Likewise, MOST Mets fans are Jets fans for the same reason (Shea Stadium).
Interestingly enough, there are (generally older than I) Red Sox Fans who are also Giants fans (my brother-in-law in Connecticut is-he's not older than I, but that's what his father was). Why not the Patriots, you may ask? The Patriots didn't come to New England until the 60s or so and so the NY Giants were pretty much the only football game in town (the Jets didn't show up until the 60s, either)>
    Me?
    Yankees/Giants.
