Question: Would You Rather Meet Your Ancestors or Descendants?

I'd rather meet my ancestors as my genes are from most of Western Europe, but about half of them are from Ireland. I have a small amount of European-Jewish ancestry, and I'm really curious about that side of my family too.

Would you rather meet your forefathers or your future descendants?

  1. I would choose my future descendants. I've always wanted to know more about the future, about how it will all change.

  3. Well if you are interested you can always find out about the PAST and with the way the world is going at present I have my doubts if there will be a future for much longer.
A person as neurotic as Trump might just in a fit of temper push a wrong button. Cruz and little Jebbie Bush "could" do likewise.
Scary enough at present with the ISIL / ISIS mob, that looney in North Korea, the mass murderous despots in the African States and the "lone wolf and other terrorists" groups.
Nah - the present is enough for me to concern myself about, thank you.

  7. I'd probably meet my ancestors because some of my ancestry is Scottish. Maybe they lived in a castle.

  8. Hey Adam, what a genial and interesting question!!!
I'd prefer to meet my ancestors, not because I'm an archaeologist wannabe/student but because I don't know so much about my family tree.. Chirico should come from Greece :D
    Have a nice day!!!

  9. I'd love to meet my ancestors. I have a Greek heritage, so can you imagine the history behind all that? Perhaps I'm related to one of those famous philosophers. Or maybe not... :)

  10. Very interesting question! I think I would rather meet my ancestors. I've studied my family history in some depth, and it would be really neat to put faces and characters to all the names.

As for my possible future descendents, I plan to do the best job possible to raise my children very well, and I'll be happy to leave the rest in the hands of Providence.

  11. Happy New Year to you, Adam! :)
If I had to decide between the two I think I would love to meet my descendants and see where life takes them, what life looks like in the future :)

  12. I don't have kids so I'm not going to have any direct descendants. So I'd like to meet some of my ancestors instead! They'd probably kick my ass for not passing on the gene pool though, LOL!

  13. I think this might be one of those questions to which my answer varies depending on my mood, the moon cycle, what I had for breakfast... I'd like to meet my ancestors. I'm pretty sure there is some Mongolian nomad / Amazonian awesomeness if we go back far enough - would be fun to check that out. But the bulk is no doubt potato farmers from Ireland.
