Fact of the Day: Sanders Heritage

Most of Senator Bernie Sanders' heritage comes from Jewish families in Poland and other parts of Europe. He had relatives who perished in the Holocaust one of which was his paternal uncle Romek. Sanders stated becoming interested in politics at an early age, as he realized that Germans had voted for evil men in the 1930's and because of that it had caused the deaths of many millions of people. After such an conclusion he realized that politics are very important.

  1. Interesting analysis by Senator Sanders on "the PAST".
You can learn from past mistakes and ensure that these are not repeated.
However, on the International news segment here this afternoon there was an interview with an elderly Afro-American Pastor from Columbus, SC, who made a very succinct observation on the upcoming elections. He said that the only candidate with a sound foundation in International Affairs was Hillary Clinton - in a brief way he virtually said: " Love here or hate her, she is the most competent of all the candidates". I believe he is correct.

Trump appears to becoming more bizarre with every appearance. Scary.
American voters seem to forget that the once darling of the Right, President Ronald Reagan was all for tearing down walls, and now you have a Republican front runner who is the darling of the present right, who is all for building walls!!! Short memories, eh?
Pity Ronald is not with us today for his horrified views on the matter.

  3. I didn't know that about him but it's a very humbling fact!

  4. Sounds like he has a good view on things and wouldn't do idiotic things like Trump, then many wouldn't lol

  5. I don't know all that much about Bernie Sanders, but so far I have a good feeling about him.

  6. As you know, I'm a conservative so Sanders or Hillary are anathema to me. Still, Sanders strikes me as being a decent, honest guy (I still think he's crazy, but...)
That being said..."evil men in the 1930s." I honestly feel we're seeing a replay of that movie right now. Except this evil man has orange hair.
If Trump gets the nomination, I do NOT want the GOP to win.
I have never felt this way in my entire life.
Maybe, crazy is preferable to evil?

    1. For Christsake read Harlynn or do some checking!
I see you live in Detroit - well that city does have plenty of problems, so I guess that can be a mitigating factor in your favour!!

Bernie Sanders was born in Brooklyn, NYC - his relatives in Poland were the victims in WW2.
Surely with all the "hoopla" over where Cruz was or was not born you'd realise that to be born overseas bars a person from running for President.
Anyhow Sanders being 74 is - well a bit too long in the tooth in my eyes - you may find you'd really be voting for his "running" mate, who surely would be far younger.

  8. I like Bernie and believe him to be an honorable man, but I don't believe he can deliver on his promises.

  9. To my way of thinking, Bernie is a whole lot more than long in the tooth. Folks...this man is a SOCIALIST... and Clinton...well, we all know she is not an honest person...all she wants to do is to be the first female President.
I agree with Al, above. I am not a Trump fan...but I feel that even on Trumps WORST day, he will be better for our country than Hillery Clinton.
And, that's all I'm gonna say about that...so please don't jump on my case and make me put on boxing gloves...:)
I respect YOUR views and I appreciate you respecting mine.
