Fact of the Day: Teddy Football

During the early days of American football, it became a very violent sport. Serious injuries and many deaths had caused serious concern. President Teddy Roosevelt urged new drastic rules to football to make it safer which led to the sport to be more popular.

  1. Very sensible decision. Violence in sports must be stopped.
    Now someone can start on outlawing that "caged boxing",
    no lets me be more precise - "all out thuggery".
