Question: Did You Ever Have a Kindergarten Graduation?

When I was kindergarten we did not have a real graduation ceremony. My oldest brother Steven went to another school and they did have one. While kindergarten is really just (or at least for me) not really school but rather babysitting, I can see why we need to "graduate" to 1st grade, but I'm a little annoyed we never had one. Could be worse I suppose, my little cousin Morgan actually got held back and went through kindergarten twice. She was the only person I knew that did not graduate kindergarten.

Did you ever have a graduation for kindergarten?

  1. I didn't go to kindergarten (my mom always called it kinderGARDEN..hahhaa) but both our kids and all 10 grandkids did go and they all graduated with little hats and robes...

  2. I was in kindergarten 41 years ago and back then we didn't have a graduation. My nephew did and I went to it but because everyone called him BJ short for Billy Jr...he didn't know what his real first name was and wouldn't say it when he graduated. I totally blame his parents for that.

  4. Oh my goodness! Poor Morgan! :P And yeah...all my kids had kindergarten graduation. Here in our province, there's Junior K and Senior K. They get the ceremony at the end of SK:D

PS Oh.My.Gosh.Best.Episode.Ever. I was really impressed with the battle scene between Ramsay and Jon's armies. That was really well-done, worthy of Peter Jackson! :D I thought Jon was gonna die again! And I was really sad with Rickon dying though, even though we all expected it, just because he died like a dog. Ramsay was such a great villain, and yeah...I did hope he had a much more painful death. I was really glad though that it was Sansa who get to deliver him his fate. Never did like Sansa's character until this episode.

Just epicness all around with this episode.

  5. When I was in that age group, we didn't even have kindergarten in our school system. I started at Grade One and there was no graduation ceremony for anything until we finished Grade Twelve. Now there's grad ceremonies every time kids turn around!

  6. We didn't have one and I think it puts unnecessary pressure and "seriousness" onto kindergarten.

  7. I can't remember if we had a graduation in kindergarten. If we did, I might have slept through it.

  9. I don't think so, it was so long ago! Maybe we didn't even have preschool then!

  10. My granddaughter will go to kindergarten this coming September. She graduated from pre-kindergarten last Friday. Her paternal grandparents, parents, siblings, one aunt, one uncle, and two cousins went to the graduation ceremony.
I went to my nephew's college graduation ceremony instead...same day.

  11. I went to half day kindergarten and there was no graduation. There was also no graduation when I finished elementary school either, which is very common these days. We didn't have a grad until the end of high school.

  12. I still have to go to kindergarten let alone graduate. I'm 76 and maybe I need some babysitting!

  13. I didn't have graduation until high school, but after 6th grade we had a ceremony of sorts because it was off to junior high next. I'm not sure junior high exists anymore. ~ Sharon

  14. Kindergarten !!! No way here in Australia. A heap of Bally-Ho, I think.
Graduation ceremonies are confined to Tertiary Education ONLY.

  15. I never had one. My kids did not either. However, my niece and nephew did, so I guess it just depends on the school district in my area if they have them or not.
