Question: What Do You Give Your Pets to Take Their Medicine?

It's very rare to find a cat or dog that will let you give them medicine from the vet. My dog would often chew through food and spit it out. But we found that soft bread or a good bit of cheese were the best things. Especially cheese, she seemed to think it was so delicious that I never saw her chew it. Almost seems like she drinks that stuff.

What do you give your dogs and cats when they're sick?

  2. Thank the Goddess I never had to dose HRH with anything. It's why I still have two hands today.

  3. When we had a dog we'd push her pill into a ball of raw hamburger and she'd wolf it down.

  5. My dogs are pigs. Anything I put in their mouth they gobble up without even thinking about it. No bread or cheeses needed.

  6. We tried mixing it with the food but that didn't always work. Sometimes we had to pick the cat up, scruff, her, cradle her, open her mouth and pop the pill in. Then wait until she swallowed. Not fun for anyone but it would work.

  7. I have used peanut butter and cheese and my sister recently suggested butter. She says butter works great!

  8. My dog just finished a round of antibiotics for an infected paw. I put the pill in a bit of peanut butter and swipe it along the side of her tongue. Sometimes I'll use cheese.
