Fact of the Day: James Francis Edward

King James II's son James Francis Edward would have been King James III if his father had not been disposed from the English, Irish, and Scottish thrones for being Catholic like himself. His protestant sister Mary II ruled along with her husband William III instead. While he spent most of his life in exile, he would outlive many monarchs who took his throne. Which were Mary II, William III, Anne I, George I, and George II.
