Fact of the Day: Presidential Socks

Socks was the Clinton family's cat during Bill Clinton's presidency. Socks and the president's dog Buddy did not get along. Socks did not remain with the Clintons when George W. Bush took office because of a smaller home and the hatred Socks had for Buddy. Socks was left with Clinton's secretary Betty Currie and stayed with her until his death in 2009.

  1. I have always been a big fan of Socks the White House cat! One of the first blog posts I ever wrote was to mark his sad passing.

  4. I wonder why they couldn't get along.
They must have fought like cats and dogs.

    1. Don't you mean " Must have fought like goldfishes
and killer whales" ????? - gives more indepth under the circumstances as one, Sock, was a cat and the other, Buddy,
      a dog.

  5. I think that is typical of the Clintons....I mean, you know, Hillary said they were stone broke when they left the White House and worried as to how to put their daughter thru college...so guess they probably didn't have enuf money to feed a cat...

    1. I reckon they had "enough" money to feed the cat.
