Fact of the Day: Green Bay Football

The Green Bay Packers are the only football (American) team in the NFL that are non-profit. It is community owned with no single major shareholder. This is a major reason why the team has stayed in a city like Green Bay than a larger city in Wisconsin.

  1. Never knew that, figured they were all owned by rich sobs.

  2. Okay, I just became a Packers fan. It makes me crazy that taxpayers have to pay for the stadiums that these teams play in. It also makes me crazy to think of the obscene amounts of money football sucks up. I can't afford to go to a football game, but I have to pay for a place for millionaires and billionaires to make more money. And it's always about the business and the bottom line, and nothing about the fans. Okay, I'll get off my soapbox!

  3. Wow, I had no idea. I almost like them. Almost. Now then, back to praising our local team as run by rich, out of touch millionaires/billionaires.

  4. I'd be much more inclined to support a team I helped support rather than one owned by a billionaire.
