Fact of the Day: Oda Nobunaga

Oda Nobunaga was a Japanese daimyo who attempted to unify Japan. He was one of Japan's most brutal figures as he often would eliminate anyone in his way.  He was a very skillful ruler, and also a intelligent businessman. However his attempt to be the de facto ruler of Japan did not come to be. One of his vassals attempted a coup and was successful. Oda Nobunaga committed seppuku before enemy soldiers could assassinate him.

  5. Oh yes, he was extremely brutal to his enemies and is not well loved in history. His grave is pretty neglected in Japan. We went to see it at Mt. Koya.
