Fact of the Day: Christian Cremation

For most of Christian history, cremation had been more than just taboo for the deceased. Due to a biblical belief that EVERY dead person would rise up one day, burial was more than just strongly encouraged. The Catholic Church would actually cremate Protestants as a "punishment".

  3. With the outrageous cost of casket, lot and burial, I think it might be a wise choice.....

  5. I didn't know about that. Both of my parents wished to be cremated, so we did that for them.

  6. Well, that explains all those burnings at the stake for heretics. I never thought of the supposed long-term effect on their ability to be physically resurrected on Judgment Day. So few Christians these days believe in that anymore.

  11. Cremation is far cheaper and with cemeteries now being so often vandalised by mongrel ferals, then cremation is the by far better option.
Who wants to go to see a loved one in a cemetery and find the grave stones trashed?????
