They looked not to be messed with.
They look like a cross between a dog and a cat. I think the last one died in 1936....what a shame
I doubt they went extinct. I bet they were forced into extinction by hunting and the destruction of their habitat.
Correct Steve...........PLUS INTRODUCED new diseasesafter Tasmania was colonised.Seems dogs had a lot to do with their extinction.Colin
That is sad :(
Beautiful animal. So sad it's now extinct.
I heard they are extinted, so sad :(
It's so sad that they aren't around anymore! They look like a very menacing animal though.
Interesting, that's too bad.
I read this and had a bit of memory of watching a movie about a tasmanian tiger...I think.
There are the occasional so called "sightings" of the "TIGER".The "Tasmanian Devil" still exists and is a well and truly protected species........absolutely ugly creatures. They suffer from horrible sores on their mouths. The devils in captivity are looked after by vets. and wildlife officers who do their best to cure the horrible mouth sores and then if cured release them back into their natural habitat. So far seems successful...........God help anyone who shoots oneso US animal hunters be warned!Colin
extinct ..along with many thousands of other animals.
They look hyena-like.
Too many things going extinct in the last 100 years ~ We're in a major extinction event right now. :(
