Question: What Helps You Sleep?

When I have to go to sleep early to show up early for work sometimes, I have to take a sleep aid. The only time I seem to be able to sleep without issue is right as it turns midnight especially with my wife Daisy already going to sleep too. Sometimes if my stomach feels empty but I don't want to eat, I'll drink some milk to settle it and I can usually go right back to sleep.

What helps you sleep?

  1. I normally don't ever have trouble falling asleep but a trick I learned (and it works for me) is to pick a letter of the alphabet and start thinking of as many words, names, places as possible that start with that letter. It works for me and I have never had to go to a 2nd letter!

  2. I sometimes have trouble falling asleep too. The only thing that helps is when I am actually tired.

  4. i have a terrible insomnia since I has a kid. but now i discovered the Purerest from USANA, and it helps me sleep after 5 mins. it's not a sleeping pills and not a habit forming, it's a natural/organic supplements. it helps regulate your sleep and wake up cycle.

  5. I've had nightmares almost every night since I was 9 years old. I have to take something to help me sleep and it used to be Ambien but that had me sleep walking and sleep eating. So now I take Promethazine. It's an antihistamine and also an anti nausea medicine which helps me. But it makes me crazy tired and I get some sleep with it. I still have nightmares every night but at least I get some sleep.

  6. A cup of tea always helps relax me before bed. It's always been my go to.

  7. Marijuana or Zzzquil help me sleep. I usually wake up at 1:30 and have difficulty falling back asleep.

  8. I'll take a bath with lavender essential oils. If that doesn't work, I'll read a book until I fall asleep. If all else fails, I have used Zzzquil with success in the past.

  9. I always read for an hour or so before going to sleep, sometimes it doesn't take that long.

  10. Nothing helps! It's really frustrating. If I can't stop spinning around, I get up and read until the words are blurry. Sometimes I have to get up more than once. I try not to drink coffee after 2:00 pm, and I try to leave the computer alone after 9:00, and I never nap. I think I'm a person who doesn't need 7 or 8 hours of sleep, and most times I can't get that amount.
