Fact of the Day: Victorian Baby Shower

In Victorian England, it wasn't very common for mothers to have a traditional baby shower. In truth, most pregnancies were kept secret for as long as possible, even if the mother was married to the father of the baby.

  6. And then we have some women who try to have two baby showers for one baby. I was invited to a shower earlier this year. Shortly after, I received a "diaper party" invitation for the same baby. Um, I already got you a gift. I am not bringing you more diapers. You're gonna have to take some of the financial responsibility at some point for this kid that you couldn't wait to conceive.
