Fact of the Day: Victor Hugo and European Unity

While he lived in a time of turmoil in France, author Victor Hugo predicted a form of European unity that did take place in the 20th century with the formation of the European Union. He made a speech and said " A day will come when all nations on our continent will form a European brotherhood ... A day will come when we shall see ... the United States of America and the United States of Europe face to face, reaching out for each other across the seas."

  2. Interesting fact that became reality, but for how long? Some of the European countries would rather get out of the European Union sometime soon. Have a wonderful 2018 Adam.
