My January 2018 Favorites

January seemed to last a good bit, so I don't think it flew by. While it was really cold outside most of the month, I did get to enjoy a lot in the realm of entertainment.
Favorite Film: 42
There's not a whole lot of people alive today that were there and rooting for (or sadly against) Jackie Robinson when he broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball. 42 recreates the story and does a pretty good job at it. Any person who cares about baseball and civil rights should see 42 without a doubt.

Favorite Video Game: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Nintendo Switch)
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is one of the first big (and non WiiU port) games for the Nintendo Switch. Ubisoft did a great job creating a game that works for both series and the turn-based strategy will have you playing for many hours.

Favorite TV Show: The Tudors
As a lover of history, it's not hard to understand why they wanted to make a show based on the life of King Henry VIII. While almost all English kings had a talent for drama, King Henry VIII had a life that seemed like a medieval episode of Maury. While the show isn't perfect (like twisting some parts of history) I really do like it.

  1. I remember reading the life story of Jackie Robinson. He was pretty amazing. My little grandboy is hooked on Mario. He is only five so just learning to play.

    Have a great Wednesday- Diana

  2. Henry VIII was a very memorable colourful character in my childhood. I just remember Ann Boleyn.

  3. Thank for providing good information for site,Thanks for your sharing.

  4. I won't have much chance to see movies or tv during the next seven weeks or so, but I'd like to see "42" and "The Tudors."
