Photos: Smithsonian National Zoo Farm

 Most zoos have some type of barnyard section, the National Zoo wasn't that large I thought. You had some donkeys here.
 And the typical goats. 
And cows... and super cute alpacas. That was a pleasant surprise.

  6. In Australia these areas are called the "Family areas" for kids to get up close and friendly with the animals.
    Of course some supervision is needed and any misbehaving kid
    gets the right royal boot out of that area and the zoo.

    You'd be horrified at the antics of some little uncontrollable
    monsters and the parents are not better.
