"Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!"I always liked these words …All the best Jan
When Muhammad Ali had his championship title fight in Manila, The Philippines (year I have forgotten) my parents meet him and his incredible entourage of "God's knows what" at the Manila Polo Club.Mother was photographed with Ali and had the photo signed by him.I can assure you it was quite a talking point when displayed in the main bar of our hotel and after my parents retired from the Hotel business in their home.Ali was according to my mother nothing like the loud-mouth as depicted, he was very polite, modest and SHY ?????Colin
He was a poet.
Muhammad Ali passed through Kokomo, Indiana several times (my father used to live there) and would often stop in the restaurants for a bite. According to the locals, he was always gracious and kind to his fans, making time to sign autographs, take photos, or shake a few hands. Very humble, nothing like you would expect from one of the greatest boxers of all time.
My dad was a big boxing buff, so I watched many of those fights on TV with him ~ back in the day. Gee thanks! LOL Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!In the ring Cassius Clay was poetry!
one of my all time hero's
