Photo: Smithsonian Whale

I saw this at the Smithsonian Museum of American History. It shows the horrid history of whaling, it's amazing how much humans can destroy anything in nature.

  3. Another ugly, hideous part of humankind's brutal exploitation of nature, other creatures and ourselves too.

  5. The whalers in the Arctic also took a tremendous tole on the inuit. They had the inuit work for them and treated them very badly. Much whaler blood was left as there are well known families with ties to hawaii and indications of black whalers too.

  6. Don't believe Moby Dick. In real life, the Captain Ahabs usually came out on top.
