Fact of the Day: German Communists in the Soviet Union

After communists were driven out (or murdered) in Germany after the rise of Nazism, many of the German communists fled to the Soviet Union. Ironically many of the most prominent members were executed unfairly during Joseph Stalin's Great Purge.

  4. And those who did adjust and survive the Stalinist era of WW2 and came back to Germany - were brutal bastards of the highest degree.
    The security service of East Germany was far more brutal than Himmler's mob.
