Fact of the Day: Pizza's Parentage

While Italy has credit for the modern pizza, there have been a few examples of pizza-like dishes. The ancient Greeks had a flatbread dish that they called plakous. They topped it off with herbs, onion, and garlic. For a similar dish in modern times, people can try a Focaccia which is popular in Europe.

Ancient Greek have pizza!? No way! Cronus wouldn't eat Zeus and his other children if there was pizza during that time.
