Fact of the Day: Not Scared Of A Flat Earth

Despite popular belief, a European view of a "flat Earth" did not hamper Christopher Columbus to set sail. Most sailors at the time knew the Earth was shaped like a sphere. Columbus merely thought the West was an easier way to get to India.

Yeah, I have read this somewhere. When Columbus set his sail in opposite direction everyone already knew that world was sphere and not flat as per popular belief.
Another interesting, favorite part of Columbus adventures is the eggstory.
