A Look Into Video Games: SegaSonic The Hedgehog

SegaSonic The Hedgehog was a Japanese arcade game released in 1994. Even though it was never released in the United States, I do remember EGM giving it some praise in a retro article.

The game was like Sonic meets Marble Madness. Up to 3 players could use a trackball to move Sonic and his new pals through levels to beat Dr. Eggman.

I have to admit, the graphics are pretty sweet for the time and it looks quite interesting. Sadly Sega admitted that because the game used a trackball, it's caused issues with controls with either a D-Pad or a Joystick. A reason why it never showed up on Sonic Mega Collection or Sonic Gems Collection. But come to think of it, Sega might want to try making a version for iOS and Android since the touch screen might work for it.

I've never heard of it. I doubt Sega would port it to anything.
