A Look Into History: Emperor Ninko

Ninko was the Emperor of Japan between 1817-1846, following the abdication of his father. Ninko ran a rather dull reign with some of his most important accomplishments being some minor changes to how the royal court was being run. Which isn't surprisingly since most of the power in Japan belonged to the Shogun at the time. However during Ninko's time, the importance of the Shogun declined until it dissolved completely 21 years after Ninko's death.
