Fact of the Day: Holy Bird

The birds known as Cardinalidae, or "cardinals" received their name from the similarity between their feather color and that of the garments worn by the Catholic priests known as cardinals.

Pretty colored birds although I think these are the ones that run into windows thinking they see another bird. Had one do that at my old house.

that color reminds me of red-oranges ... pretty color
