Fact of the Day: Bharat

India's name is derived from Latin meaning "Land of the Indus river". A native name for India is Bharat, which is taken from the name of India's legendary Emperor.

And here I thought "Bharat" meant: "Let's take the colors from Ireland's flag, turn the stripes sidewise, and stick a circular pinwheel thingie in the center."
