Fact of the Day: Germania

Germany get it's name from Germania which was a term popularized by Julius Caesar to refer to all people east of the Rhine river. In German, it's name is Deutschland

the exactly same name of Germania is still used in my country as the official name of Germay,(my coutry is latin) ... i didn't know it was such an old term to be honest

and in French it's Alemagne and in Serbian is Nemacka :)

It's funny how it relates to an actual fact. At least now I know that Germany's name has a literal sense :)
