Fact of the Day: Whale Onion

Leeks are one of the national symbols for the European country of Wales. The origin of this comes from a (probably false) story of a King making his men wear the vegetable on their head during a battle against the Saxons over a thousand years ago.

Leeks are called whale lions, never knew. False or not, it is pretty imaginative, so who cares? :)
