Fact of the Day: Insects Hate Basil

The herb basil actually has some natural bug-repellent properties. Extracts of the plant have been proven toxic to mosquitoes.

cool post! now I'll look for Basil and place it in my room or bring it with me everywhere! haha. The insects always attack and eat me. :(

they hate most of fragrant plants, lavander and such things, they also hate the smell of tomato leaves.

That is a nice thing to know.
Spiders are good to have in a vegetable garden because they catch other insects.
