Fact of the Day: Leaves the Nest Late

Unlike most other birds, most species of pigeons never leave the nest when they're babies. They wait until they're young juveniles before venturing out into the real world.

Cool fact. Depending on the how many babies, the next must get pretty packed before the teens leave.

Hey, they're like humans. They hang around until they're 21 and mommy finally says, "okay, you need to get a job and gtfo."

I knew this because I had some pigeons living outside my window. They were quite big before they headed out on their own.
