Japanese Words for the Day: Colors

 Red is  (Aka)
 Purple is  (Murasaki)
 Yellow is 黄色 (Kiiro)
 Green is  (Midori)
 Black is  (Kuro)
 Blue is  (Ao)
 Brown is 茶色 (Chairo)
 White is  (Shiro)
 Orange is オレンジ色 (Orenji Iro)
Pink is 桃色 (Momoiro)

I only knew midori.

I was so confuse when I read Blue is 青 (Ao)because in Chinese language 青 means green. That's was so different between Japanese language and Chines Language. :)

very interesting. Maybe the person who got the characters mixed up but made them standard was colorblind?
