Fact of the Day: Dodo Cousin

The closest living relative to the Dodo bird is the Nicobar Pigeon. Ironically its cousin is far from extinct as it ranks one spot below the "least concern" conservation status.

it lives in the nicobar islands and other parts of southeast asia. The dodo was actually from the island Mauritius which is close to Madagascar.
